Essence of Christmas

The essence of Christmas is its relevance. It can have a home at every stage of life. It is the voice crying out in wilderness and not a story tale once told. It can be as meaningful in the present as it was 2000 years ago, for Jesus is still shining bright. This year take time and look at twinkle of the lights or the stars shining bright, may it also be a reminder of the One who gives light to all. Christmas is all about the good news of a changed heart Christmas Quotes Jesus, Holiday Sayings, Christmas Prayer, Royal Christmas, A Christmas Story, 12 Days Of Christmas, Christmas Greetings, Christmas Art, Christian Holidays

We are in that special season once again, a season of joy, of peace, of great tidings. A season when we celebrate the birth of Christ the King, the redeemer of mankind! Jesus is the reason for the season. What does Christmas mean to you and me? I will like to draw reference from the views of two writers. The first is J. C Penney who wrote, ‘Christmas is not just a time for festivity and merry making. It is more than that. It is a time for the contemplation of eternal things. The Christmas spirit is a spirit of giving and forgiving.’
Christmas is not all about merry making. We must also spare time to reflect on the essence of the period which is the love of God for humanity. This unquantifiable love is summed up in the popular bible verse John 3: 16 “For God so loved the world that he gave us his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him will not perish but have eternal life.”When we ponder on God’s love for us, we too are encouraged to share love with others, to embrace peace and be our brother’s keeper. When we are imbued with this love of God, we will be always willing to give a helping hand to those in need, to give succour and comfort to the vulnerable ones amongst others. At Christmas, we are expected to spare time to contemplate on things eternal. That is, we must remind ourselves that we are strangers her on earth; that our real home is in heaven. And that no matter how long we live, we shall sure die one day. So many people who started the year 2012 with us are not around to finish it. Like us, they commenced the New Year with high hopes and aspirations. Some may have planned to marry this year, to buy a new car or to move into their new apartment. But alas, all those are now but a pipe dream. Thus, we should count ourselves lucky to be alive to see this Christmas. This should therefore be a period of gratitude to God for sparing our lives and counting us among the living. It should equally be an opportunity for us to mend our ways with God so that we will not be found wanting.

As we celebrate the birth of our saviour, let’s be human & kind enough to remember & show some love to those motherless babies, helpless orphans, hospital patients, prisoners, beggars & all those who are not fortunate enough to be actively involved in the celebration of the birth of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ.

Gender And Development- Violence Against Women

Gender equality plays a crucial role in development. The Gender and Development (GAD) focal point at NAPC actively promotes the advancement of women by combating the feminization of poverty through a series of GAD activities. This year, the newly-formed GAD committee has scheduled capacity-development building among NAPC staff and the basic sectors. Key activities include Gender-Sensitivity Training (GST) and Gender-Responsive Planning (GRP). This is to create gender awareness, identify gender issues, and establish a unified action plan in order to address them. Other projects include such activities for women's empowerment as the GREAT Women Project, Grassroots Mobilization for Legislative Agenda on RH, Women's Month, Women and the Environment Month, Women's Health Day, and 16-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW).

We need to be aware of what other people can feel because our society is being bombarded with overflowing gender inequality and violence. We need

Environment Awareness Month

World Environment Day 2018
https://www.lifealth.com/wellness/healthy-living/world-environment-day-2018-easy-ways-take-care-environment-av/77189/

November is Environmental Awareness Month by virtue of Republic Act No. 9512 signed on Dec. 12, 2008.
The law says the promotion of national awareness on the role of natural resources in economic growth and the importance of environmental conservation shall be done through environmental education.
Environmental Awareness is being aware of the natural environment and making choices that benefit the Earth rather that hurting it. We are slowly killing our world, we are nor just aware of it. We have to help the earth. We need to know the importance of our environment.

Children's Month

Wikipedia Children's Day.png
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children%27s_Day

Children’s Month is an activity conducted every November annually that commemorates the adoption of the Convention of the Rights of the Child by the United Nations General Assembly. Children's Month is a commemorative date celebrated annually in honor of children, whose actual day varies by country.

"Kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan" Dr Jose Rizal once said. So why would we be violent to childrens, instead of making them feel safe? We need to stop the violence not just with the childrens, but with everyone because as of now, violence is stepping up. We need to stop cause it does not do good to us. We should love the youth, not the other way around. Sexual exploitation among childrens are now rising uo so we need to helo them. We need to tell them to enjoy the life of being a children, but not with the exploring things that is for adults.

Childrens should know the limitations and for that, we need to stand, and help them to understand the things that they need to understand.

Values Month Celebration

https://twitter.com/nccaofficial/status/793752904821710849

Did you know, that Filipino Values Month is celebrated during November? Values Month is to celebrate good, unique Filipino values. In fact, it is to measure the effectiveness and to help each other, create good moral.

The Filipino value system or Filipino values refers to the set of values that a majority of the Filipino have historically held important in their lives. This Philippine values system includes their own unique assemblage of consistent ideologiesmoral codesethical practicesetiquette and cultural and personal values that are promoted by their society. As with any society though, the values that an individual holds sacred can differ on the basis of religion, upbringing and other factors.

For me, the one characterstics of the Filipino  is that the bond of the families or being family oriented.  Not just like in the Western countries, young Filipinos who turn 18 are not expected to move from their parent's home. Like if their parents are old, they will take care of them and doesn't want to send them to the Home of the Aged. Another one is being a God-fearing. It amazes me on how Filipinos value God, or the Creator. On how Filipinos appreciate everyone.

Filipino's values are amazing. We need to create good morals too.

Indigenous Languages

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations

Languages play a crucial role in the daily lives of people, not only as a tool for communication, education, social integration and development, but also as a repository for each person's unique identity, cultural history, traditions and memory. Despite their immense value, languages around the world continue to disappear at an alarming rate.

The United Nations declared 2019 The Year of Indigenous Languages (IY2019) in order to rise awareness of them not only to benefit the people to speak these languages, but also for others to appereciate the important contibution they make to our world's rich cultural activity.

The theme for this event is "Indigenous Languages matter for sustainable development peace building and reconciliation". This is indeed helpful for our world. For me, this means strenthening the bond of each countries in our world.
